Dissecting the cellular cytokine network

Dissecting the cellular cytokine network

Cytokine theme
Cytokines are small proteins produced by cells of the immune system. They regulate the development and the function of the immune response, so if the cytokine network is distorted, diseases like chronic inflammation and auto immune diseases may develop. In the Immunology Group we would like to understand how the cellular cytokine network functions. This will lead to subtle interventions, allowing us to modulate the network in order to treat diseases like inflammatory bowel diseases and auto immune diseases.
