Public activities

We are involved in a number of activities to educate and inform the public about our work. Dr Cruickshank, Dr Pennock and Professor Else have developed an exciting mobile workshop called ‘The Worm Wagon’ which has been adapted to suit all ages from Primary through to A level students. These workshops are run by staff and students from the Manchester Immunology Group, who have a great time teaching children and adults alike, and encouraging them to literally pull worms out of mucus!

A number of researchers including Professor Else, Professor Grencis and Dr Cruickshank also offer placements for A-level students as part of the Nuffield Bursary Scheme. In addition, the immunology research group is part of the “Researchers in Residence” scheme.
